   The Old Dairy Menu    

Our menu has a good choice of starters and main courses to suit most tastes plus a selection of homemade desserts. 
The majority of the menu is created and cooked at Kirkby House ensuring you have that authentic home cooked taste. 
You can see a sample of our menus below. 
Our menus are to subject to change without notice due to the availability of fresh produce. 

The Old Dairy Menu 2021 Served every Friday & Saturday (some items may not be available in December) 


Green Lip Mussels (£8.95) 
New Zealand green Lipped Mussels in half shell, garnished with a garlic and Chardonnay sauce. 
Our own home-made soup (£4.95) 
Always fresh always homemade served with crusty bread and dairy butter (please ask for today’s choice) 
Duck & Orange Pate (£6.95) 
Smooth Duck and Orange pate complimented with caramelized red onion, fresh artisan bread, dairy butter and salad garnish 
Whitebait (£6.95) 
Breaded North Sea Whitebait deep fried. Served 
with tartare sauce and a slice of lemon. 
Garlic Bread (£4.95) with cheese (optional) 
Fresh stone baked baguette, rubbed with garlic and oregano butter 
Mexican style Nachos (£4.95) 
tortilla chips smothered with guacamole, salsa, jalapenos and grated mature cheddar served in its own unique griddle pan. 
Crayfish Platter (£6.95) 
Freshwater Crayfish tails and mixed leaves dressed with an ocean sauce served with slices of baguette and dairy butter 
Mushrooms in Stilton Cream jus (£6.95) 
Fresh closed cup mushrooms gently sauté in mixed herbs then smothered in a creamy stilton garlic sauce served with stone baked baguette. 


Chicken Italiano (£14.95) 
Breast of chicken Italiano stuffed with mature cheddar and pepperoni, rolled in smoked back bacon, glazed with mornay sauce 
Prime Darn of Hake (£16.95) 
A fillet of Hake lightly poached and served with a rich creamy asparagus jus, served with crispy herby cubes and seasonal vegetables. 
Salmon & Prawn Mornay (£14.95) 
Filleted Scottish Salmon Steak and freshwater crayfish topped with parsley sauce, dusted with Lockerbie mature cheddar and finished in the oven 
Pan Seared Seabass (£16.95) 
A large prime fillet of Seabass seared in a covered pan to preserve the texture, the flavour of the fish speaks for itself, so we add only a little lemon butter, we recommend rice or sauté potato with this dish 
Linguine £ 11.95 (V) 
Italian Durum Wheat pasta tossed in a Mediterranean sauce with mushroom, onions and peppers dusted with grated parmesan 
Frank’s Beef Chunky Cheese Lasagne (£11.95) 
Lasagne pasta sheets, covered in seasoned minced beef and a tomato puree topped with béchamel infused with oregano, smothered with Lockerbie cheddar, finished with a Mediterranean sauce. 
Classic Scampi (£11.95) 
Whitby breaded wholetail scampi deep fried accompanied by a salad garnish and tartare sauce 
Battered Cod, Mushy Peas & Chips (£11.95) 
A traditional favourite. 
Tennessee Smokey Bourbon chicken (£12.95) 
Tender pieces of chicken breast sautéed with peppers and onion finished with a smokey bourbon barbeque sauce. 
Kirkby House Porchetta (£14.95) 
Slow roasted seasoned boneless belly pork herb stuffing and smoked back bacon with slices of Scottish style black pudding, herby mash and cider gravy. 
Fish Pie (£12.95) 
Smoked haddock, cod and salmon poached in a cream & white wine sauce topped with parmesan mash and seasonal vegetables. 


Bangkok Bad Boy Burger (Vegan) (£11.95) 
A Thai-influenced burger with fresh lemongrass and lime leaf, mixed vegetables, coriander and chilli. Coated in a black onion, sesame and cumin seed crumb containing crunchy red lentils. 
Served with mushrooms, onion rings & skinny fries. 
8oz Kirkby House Burger (£11.95) 
Premium gourmet burger with cheese and our own tomato relish, served with onion rings, mushrooms & skinny fries. 
Bangkok Bad Boy Burger (£11.95) 
6oz Premium chicken burger with cheese and our own tomato relish.. 
Served with mushrooms, onion rings & skinny fries. 

Steaks, Pies and Ham

Generously sliced premium Wiltshire ham, served with fresh farm eggs and our skinny fries. 
Steak and Kidney pudding (£11.95) 
A suet pudding with Chef’s velvety gravy and prime chunks of steak and kidney. 
Beef or Chicken & Mushroom (11.95)

Stilton Cheddar Slate (£8.95) 
A Stilton and mature cheddar platter served with a chutney, assorted crackers butter and Greek olives 
Homemade treacle sponge (£5.95) 
Homemade treacle sponge served with piping hot Devon custard or a scoop of ice-cream. 
New-York cheesecake (GF) (£5.95) 
Classic vanilla flavour cheesecake drizzled with a mango coulis 
Hot Chocolate Dumpling (£5.95) 
Homemade double chocolate sponge drizzled with chocolate sauce, served with Devon custard or a scoop of triple chocolate ice-cream. 
Homemade jam roly-poly (£5.95) 
Fresh strawberry jam, and suet pastry served with Devon custard 
Gelato Triple (£5.95) 
Chocolate, strawberry and vanilla ice cream 
Brioche St. Clements (£5.95) 
Made by Frank, layers of choc chip brioche bread, soaked in homemade custard with sultanas steeped in brandy, Morello Cherry and a liquid lemon curd center. 
Chocolate Orange Cake (£6.95) 
A slice of orange sponge generously coated in dark chocolate with soft orange fondant center. 
Chocolate Salted Caramelised
